AND because we learn really well from stories and seeing examples of correct language, every week I put together 3 stories or dialogues on the week’s theme with examples of the week’s words and phrases in a useful context. I strongly believe that we can learn a lot from reading, these mini-texts with translations are just the right length for you to digest easily. (look at the translations first if that helps!)

A Maria vai ao centro comercial. Ela quer comprar uma camisola.
Entra numa loja e vê muitas camisolas.
Há camisolas vermelhas, azuis e verdes.
A Maria gosta de uma camisola azul.
Ela pergunta o preço.
A camisola custa vinte euros.
Ela experimenta a camisola.
Fica-lhe bem!

 He needs new clothes.
He goes to a clothes shop on Saturday morning.

B1+ – “An unexpected shopping afternoon”
Last Saturday, Ana went for a walk with a friend in the city centre.
She wasn’t planning to buy anything, but they saw a shop on sale and went in out of curiosity.
Inside, Ana found a coat she loved.
It was good quality and had 50% off.
She tried on the coat and was surprised: it seemed made for her!

Sometimes, the best purchases are the unplanned ones.
