AND because we learn really well from stories and seeing examples of correct language, every week I put together 3 stories or dialogues on the week’s theme with examples of the week’s words and phrases in a useful context. I strongly believe that we can learn a lot from reading, these mini-texts with translations are just the right length for you to digest easily. (look at the translations first if that helps!)

A família do Miguel é muito grande. O rapaz vive numa aldeia com os pais e os avós. O avô gosta de brincar com o neto e a avó adora cantar com a neta. O tio do Miguel toca guitarra e a tia gosta de cozinhar. O primo joga futebol e a prima dança balet. O sobrinho pequeno gosta de correr e a sobrinha gosta de desenhar. Todos estão juntos ao domingo. Eles falam, riem e comem pão com queijo. O Miguel é feliz porque tem sempre companhia. Na família dele, cada pessoa tem um talento e todos gostam de partilhar momentos simples.

No verão, a família da Ana encontra-se sempre na casa dos avós. A neta ajuda a avó na horta e o neto aprende com o avô a arranjar bicicletas. O tio João e a tia Marta trazem comida deliciosa e histórias engraçadas. O primo Luís é um rapaz curioso que gosta de explorar a floresta, e a prima Inês prefere ficar a desenhar no terraço. Os filhos mais novos, o sobrinho Pedro e a sobrinha Sofia, jogam às escondidas com os cães da família. No ano passado, todos organizaram um piquenique. Foi divertido: comeram frutas, cantaram músicas e tiraram fotografias. A Ana adora estes encontros porque sente união e alegria. Para ela, a família é como uma pequena festa que nunca acaba.
